Dear Ladies and Gentlemen,
when over two years ago, Ernst Kovacic became the artistic director of Wroclaw Chamber Orchestra LEOPOLDINUM and the ensemble was included in the organizational structure of the Wroclaw Philharmonic I proposed the orchestra to become the „host” of a new music festival, which programme would also include other spheres of art, especially dance.
Ernst Kovacic, whom I offered the job of the artistic director of the Leo Festival, has prepared for you a very attractive programme of four concerts including not only music and dance but also marionette opera and children’s opera. I hope that the concerts prepared by us will be met with great interest by the fans of music, dance and theatre, and The Leo Festival will become an inherent part of the cultural landscape of Wroclaw.
Andrzej Kosendiak
General Director
The festival gives us the chance to demonstrate the wide range of the orchestra’s repertoire, carefully treasuring tradition but also opening ears and minds for new forms of musical expression and sounds.
The orchestra wants to actively contribute to Wroclaw’s musical and cultural life by connecting with other arts, theatre, dance, film, sculpture… and, by establishing contacts to as many people as possible - in this festival especially with children and teachers.
Thus we hope to convincingly express our believe that arts and music are essential and important ingredients to human society and life.
A warm THANK YOU to all institutions and persons who help us to achieve these goals.
